Kefalonia Villa

Our villa in Kefalonia can be yours to rent over the summer. The island of Kefalonia, just off the cost of Greece, has been the home to many a beautiful holiday for years gone by. With green rolling fields surrounded by poppies and forestry, the island is truly a place of beauty. With great weather blessing the island for virtually all of the year round, along with the natural great sights around the island, Kefalonia is a great place for you to come and enjoy your summer.

Perhaps one of the best parts of Kefalonia are the beaches, most of which are covered in stunningly perfect white sand. With the crisp, clear blue sea rolling in wave after wave, the island will certainly keep you relaxed for the duration of your stay. In fact, the Mirtos beach of Kefalonia has been officially ranked as the fifth most stunning beach in the world! Some of the beaches across the island are generally inaccessible from land. While some beaches may be great areas for holiday goers, others are just as beautiful, but almost untouched by the island’s population. Find one of these, and you can be guaranteed a perfect and peaceful relax by the sea.

The island of Kefalonia has naturally found it’s main source of income through fishing, which is still commonplace throughout the isle. The main harbours on the island can be found at Argostoli and Lixouri, where the majority of town life on the island occurs. If you’re after fancy dining on the island, this is the place to go. The island is also home to the loggerhead turtle, which is under protection due to being such an endangered species.

Kefalonia is an easy island to access too, with the airport being just 10km south of Argostoli, flying mostly to and from Athens in Greece. There is also an island to island boat service available, going between the islands of Kefalonia, Zante and Lefkas.

Despite being an island off the coast of Greece, at 300 square miles, there is a lot of Kefalonia to explore. The island is large enough in fact to even host it’s own sport leagues, as well as being home to a number of museums and displays of both literature and film.

While the beaches can therefore be a great place for you to relax on Kefalonia, so can the towns be a place to come and involve yourself with the history of the island and really enjoy yourself.
